IMAT is the admission test used by several English-taught medicine and surgery programmes in Italy. What to verify before choosing IMAT
- Confirm that the target programme is open to non-EU applicants and that the intake matches your year.
- Read the official call for registration dates, test rules, ranking method and required documents.
- Compare your preparation time with the difficulty of biology, chemistry, logic, mathematics and physics.
- Prepare academic documents in parallel, because a good test score does not replace a complete admission file.
How IMAT affects the Italy file
A selective medical path must remain coherent with your grades, language level, budget and calendar. If the ranking result arrives late, you still need to anticipate housing, financial proof, translations, insurance and the visa appointment strategy.
